Great to meet you!

I am Charity Ukwuoma, a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner credentialed by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. I began my nursing career in 2008 after receiving my initial licensure from the Arizona State Board of Nursing. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University in 2011 and completed my Master of Science in Nursing in 2015. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, I spent seven years as a Registered Nurse in acute care settings including telemetry, progressive care, medical surgical, and post partum units. For the past eight years, I have practiced as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and I now specialize in psychiatric and mental health care. I support adults navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, chronic stress, and emotional dysregulation, often alongside physical health concerns. My work also includes medical weight loss, men’s health, and women’s health, with a strong focus on how physical and mental health are deeply connected.

My approach to therapy

My approach to mental health care is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in evidence based practice. I focus on understanding the whole person, not just symptoms or diagnoses. I take time to listen carefully to your lived experience so we can uncover what is truly driving your emotional distress. I combine psychiatric evaluation, medication management when appropriate, and supportive lifestyle strategies to help restore balance. I believe in treating mental health with dignity, patience, and respect while creating space for healing that is both clinical and human.

What you can expect from me

In your first session, you can expect a calm, supportive space where your story is heard without judgment. We will talk in depth about your emotional symptoms, mental health history, stressors, sleep, and overall functioning. I will also assess for underlying medical or contributing factors so we can better understand what is happening. Together, we will begin shaping a treatment plan that may include medication options, coping strategies, and next steps tailored to your needs. You will leave with clarity, a sense of direction, and a provider who is committed to walking with you toward improved mental wellness.
