Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes, and have years of experience, in working with individuals who have experienced trauma and helping those individuals heal. I am also experienced in working with relationships, including couples therapy and navigating divorces, parenting, and/or custody. I have experience working with a wide variety of backgrounds, complex diagnoses, and ages. I use evidence-based interventions and techniques in my sessions to produce the best results possible. I enjoy helping individuals in their journey of healing in order to help them reach their fullest potential. I take a Person-Centered approach and concentrate on strength based, positive psychotherapy, with a foundation in Trauma Informed Care. I offer mental health services virtually.

Charlene obtained her undergraduate degree in Social Science with a minor in Psychology from Waynesburg University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She also attended Waynesburg University for her graduate studies and graduated with a M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with honors. After graduating, she began her career in a community mental health setting, where she thrived, before going into private practice.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My main modality is person centered therapy. I like to use CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing in sessions, along with utilizing art therapy, experiential learning activities, or games with clients.

What you can expect from our first session

Clients can expect to have a session with a therapist that gives unconditional positive regard and who is nonjudgmental. Be who you really are.
