Great to meet you!

More that fifteen years of teaching English and drama at a Los Angeles public high school taught me many things - primarily, it taught me how often people's barriers to achievement are not due to any lack of skill or ability, but rather from emotional barriers stemming from stress, adversity and trauma. So, I went back to graduate school to pursue a new career as a therapist so that I could help in a different way. My training and experience has focused on treating anxiety disorders, PTSD (including Complex-PTSD) and also couples - helping them to navigate challenges and triggers so that they can reset and reconnect.

My approach to therapy

I believe that healing and transformation are, fundamentally, acts of creativity. How can we reconnect with a sense of agency to bring ourselves closer to the life we envision while also acknowledging how much is out of our control? This is a delicate balancing act, and one that we are all continually "working on." Whether you are grappling with a diagnosable mental health condition, or simply hoping to attain goals or improve your relationships, I look forward to walking that road with you. Together, we will get creative about how to get where you're going.

What you can expect from me

No therapeutic approach is right for everyone, so an initial session is always about hearing from you: where you are, where you've come from, and where you hope to go. I see my most important job as providing a safe and non-judgmental place for you to sift through the complexities of your life. I often like to start with the question: If we are wildly successful here, what will be different? The timeline for change is always yours, as is the choice in therapeutic approach.
