Great to meet you!

As a therapist and a member of the LGBTQ+ community I have experience in navigating rejection, trauma, and discrimination. My MSW in clinical contextual social work informs my therapeutic practices by acknowledging ways that broader life circumstances shape mental and emotional well-being. I also have a PhD in social welfare, a discipline dedicated to improving well-being and reducing inequalities by creating programs and policies that support individuals, families, and communities.

My approach to therapy

My foundational approach to therapy is grounded in psychodynamic theory, which explores how early experiences and unconscious patterns shape our current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Over the 20+ years I’ve been practicing, I’ve developed a well-stocked therapeutic toolbox with a variety of approaches—like rational-emotive behavioral therapy (REBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and existential therapy. This allows me to tailor sessions based on the needs and goals of each client.

What you can expect from me

I believe therapy works best when it’s collaborative and adaptable. Clients can expect to walk away with a greater sense of insight—gaining clarity around patterns that influence their relationships and decisions. Some sessions may focus on deeper exploration of past experiences, while others may offer practical strategies for navigating immediate challenges. Clients will leave with practical tools tailored to their specific needs.
