Great to meet you!

My practice as a psychologist focuses on transitions through major life changes, e.g., separation from significant persons through death, divorce, going off to college, as well as other changes such as marriage, giving birth, retiring, chronic illness. I have an M.S. and a Ph.D. from Rutgers University, had spent three decades in research and clinical service at the NYS Institute for Basic Research in Developmental Disabilities, two decades providing clinical services in nursing care facilities, and 40 years in private practice.

My approach to therapy

As a psychotherapist, my approach is client centered, providing support and affirmation with particular emphasis on cognitive behavioral therapy, self monitoring, and real world exercises; anxiety reducing therapies, including systematic desensitization, mindfulness, and relaxation exercises.

What you can expect from me

Patients can expect sessions to include self examination, focus on their thoughts and associated feelings, and awareness of how their cognitions impact their behavior and relationships.
