Specializes in

Anxiety, Depression, and PTSD

Great to meet you!

I’ve been helping Veterans from all walks of life explore, cope, and overcome anxiety, depression, and trauma to find hope and enjoyment in life for years. I know from experience that making the choice to face your demons in therapy is one of the most difficult decisions one can make. What’s worse, is in the civilian world, finding someone who specializes in trauma can be even more difficult. This is why I have chosen to offer my services online. I want to help you discover the confidence, hope, and strength you need to overcome the challenges you have experienced in your life, even if you are not a veteran. I want to help you relearn how to cope with whatever comes your way and grow from those experiences. I don’t want to treat you forever, but I do want to help you recover. While I specialize in PTSD (combat, child and adult sexual trauma, complex PTSD, etc.), I am experienced with the treatment of nightmares and insomnia, general anxiety and panic, depression, grief, and other ailments that plague our lives. Thanks for taking the time to stop by. I’m looking forward to helping you live the life you desire.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I look at recovery from a cognitive behavioral lens. I help my patients learn how to recognize the intricate interplay of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that oftentimes lead us to suffering. Using mindfulness, I help my patients become more aware of how they interpret life, so that we can begin to challenge those thoughts that keep them from obtaining their personal goals.

Ultimately, I wish for you to learn how to "therapize" yourself so that you no longer need me. I utilize multiple evidence-based therapies, including various forms of CBT (e.g., for anxiety, depression, insomnia, etc.) and those with a trauma-processing foci, such as Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to guide you on your journey of facing those demons keeping you from recovery.

I know therapy is difficult, so while I utilize manualized treatment, treatment comes at your pace, not mine. I want you to be as comfortable with this process as possible (while gently pushing you outside your comfort bubble) so that we can help you achieve your therapeutic gains.

What you can expect from our first session

First and foremost, I want you to trust in me and my ability to help you through this distressing time. I will teach you about your symptoms, how they developed and why, as well as why the treatment we choose together will be helpful. I want you to come out the other side of therapy with growth and a deeper knowledge of who you are and confidence that you can face what you need to moving forward on this journey of life.
