Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Child Mental Health Specialist in Washington State. I counsel people ages two to hundred in aspects of their lives from creating a strong parent/infant bond to adolescent struggles to saying goodbye at life's end. I see individuals, children, adolescents, couples, and families.

Mother of three special needs children, including autistic twins, and step-mother of two wonderful young adults, devoted wife and working professional. I volunteer with various community functions, and am a Registered leader with Scouting America (aka Boy Scouts of America). My life gives me insight into blended families, parenting multiples, the teen years, stress, post-partum issues, child developmental issues, trying to balance life, finances, jobs, marriage, and sense of self.

My approach to therapy

My approach is all about the whole-person. I take into consideration one's physical health, social, spiritual and cultural issues as well as mental and emotional well-being. Your course of counseling is set-up to meet your individual situation, needs, and goals.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a lot of questions and information. I will fill you in on who I am and my style and approach to therapy. Many of my clients tell me that I am very different than their previous encounters with mental health and that my approach is refreshing. I will ask you a lot of questions on many topics so that I truly get a good snapshot of who you are, your strengths, weaknesses, passions, and overall health. We end the session with a discussion of what kind of help are you seeking and how when you know that things are better. I let you know this is completely about you and making sure you feel comfortable. Then we discuss scheduling and finding what works for you.
