Great to meet you!

I was naturally introspective, curious about psychology and understanding my own family system. However, I did not always feel comfortable pursuing a career in the field due to the mental health stigma. I have since challenged and continue to grow in my own pursuit of breaking away from beliefs and systems that are no longer serving the person I am today. I want to help others live a thriving, full, and authentic life. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT #161042) who has experience working with anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I have worked in the outpatient setting since becoming a therapist in 2022. I utilize an eclectic approach to meet the needs of each client and I am trained in EMDR.

My approach to therapy

My typical process for working with clients is usually more formal for the intake process to collaboratively establish goals for therapy. I will also require clients to complete an initial assessment questionnaire with a client’s history to be able to ask more individualized questions for the intake session. I will encourage my clients to continue to do their work outside of therapy while teaching them skills and practicing those skills in session. I will continue to challenge my clients and hold a nonjudgmental environment to explore different beliefs. I welcome feedback to continue to grow my skills as a clinician. I learn so much from clients and I am grateful to be in this space.

What you can expect from me

I describe my approach as client centered and adaptable. I want to get to know my clients and build our therapeutic relationship. I know I will not be a fit for everyone and I will help support the alignment in the therapist-client relationship. I also realize therapy is such a complex and vulnerable space. Life will continue to happen alongside learning about feelings, patterns, and relationship dynamics. I will meet my clients where they are week after week while reminding them of the goals we are working towards. I have experience using skills from treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for psychoeducation, Client Centered Therapy to help build the therapeutic relationship, Motivational Interviewing to identify readiness for change, and I am trained in EMDR for trauma processing. I use an eclectic and collaborative approach to therapy.
