Hi! My name is Chelsea Calhoun and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I received my masters degree from Stephen F. Austin State University in Professional Counseling with a concentration in School Counseling. Currently, I work in the school system as a school counselor and have been doing that for six years. I also work as an LPC after school hours. I specialize in working with children, teens, young adults, adults, and families.
I specialize in working with my clients using a Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) approach. Because I truly believe that in order to change your behavior you have to change your thought pattern, as well.
During our first session, I really try build rapport and trust with the client. It is vital that my clients feel comfortable enough with me to express themselves in a healthy manner. We may also discuss counseling goals and what the client wants to get out of therapy while working with me. I look forward to working with my clients through this journey!
