Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Chelsea Krayecki, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Wausau, WI. I've spent over 10 years working in mental health across a wide range of settings — from psychiatric hospitals to outpatient counseling — and with clients of all ages, though my heart is especially drawn to working with children and adolescents.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Therapeutic Recreation with a minor in psychology from UW-La Crosse, and my master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Winona State University. I also completed my practicum and internship at Rogers Behavioral Health in Appleton, WI, where I focused on intensive outpatient treatment for both adolescents and adults. This mix of education and hands-on experience has shaped the way I work with clients today — I bring creativity, warmth, and a deep understanding of what it takes to meet people where they are.

My approach to therapy

I know that traditional talk therapy isn't for everyone — and that's completely okay. I specialize in creative and alternative approaches, including art therapy (using visual expression to explore thoughts and emotions) and play therapy (using guided play to help children and adolescents communicate and process their experiences in a natural, pressure-free way).

My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you or your child can express yourself freely — without judgment. Every person is different, so I tailor each session to fit what works best for you, whether that's through conversation, creative activities, or a mix of both.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. I'll ask some questions to understand what brought you to therapy and what you're hoping to work on — but there's no pressure to dive into anything you're not ready for.

From there, we'll start building a connection through creative and therapeutic activities. Many of my clients — especially those who've found traditional counseling difficult — tell me they feel more comfortable and open when they can express themselves through art or play rather than words alone. By the end, you'll have a sense of how our sessions will feel and whether we're a good fit.
