Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Chelsea. I'm a therapist offering virtual sessions to adults looking for outpatient support with anxiety, depression, stress management, life transitions, trauma, grief, self-esteem, and/or general quality of life concerns. My professional experience as a clinician spans from hospitals to homeless shelters to various nonprofits over the last ten years. I received my Masters in Social Work degree with a clinical mental health specialization from Hunter College’s Silberman School of Social Work and received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Northeastern University. In addition to the varied professional positions and mental health degrees, I have completed additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Beck Institute), Cognitive Processing Therapy (PESI), and Grief Counseling and Treatment Certification (PESI), which greatly influence my practice today.

My approach to therapy

My primary therapy modality is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I like to work with people in taking small steps together towards their self-identified large goals at their pace, weaving a connection between clients' feelings/thoughts/behaviors. I understand while some may struggle with similar situations or challenges, each person has unique preferences, experiences, and strengths. I often use humor throughout my practice and tend to incorporate music and outside supports within the therapeutic journey together.

What you can expect from me

I offer a free 15 minute consultation and our first session together explores any areas of concern with some historical information. Together, we map an approach that is both comfortable with the client and clinically appropriate.
