Great to meet you!

I am Dr. Cherrie Camper. After completing a BS in psychology, I attained an MS and PHD in marriage and family therapy. Earlier in my career my focus was on families, teenagers, domestic violence, substance abuse, depression and trauma. However, after working in a hospital system for 7 years and focusing on patient's in crisis or managing chronic mental illnesses, I have pivoted more towards couples, families and individuals with relational issues as well as depression, grief, anxiety and trauma.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I approach the therapy process as an opportunity to help clients clarify problems, invite the solutions, strategies and practical tools that would best fit for them. Everyone's story, values, and perception shapes their needs and solutions. I thoroughly enjoy working with clients to explore these things about themselves and others in order to promote awareness, growth and ongoing life/relationship improvements.

What you can expect from our first session

I create individualized goals with each client based on the clarified problem, desired outcome and the strengths of the individual or couple. I am conscious of the need to listen intently without judgment and help the client learn specific practical tools and strategies so s/he can maintain ongoing success with positive life changes after the therapy process if completed.
