Great to meet you!

Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have worked in the Mental Health field for over 30 years. My experience has allowed me to work with many wonderful clients and assist them to feeling better about themselves and improve their lives. I am familiar with working with Depression, Anxiety, Grief and relationship concerns. I have worked with Active duty Military and Military Veterans as well. I'm trained in various therapy techniques. I am very familiar with treating trauma with men and women,

My approach to therapy

I work with adults who primarily are struggling with grief, health concerns, life changes and relationship issues. Many clients are wanting to find ways to heal from the pain they have from past situations or are currently experiencing. They understand that they need to learn ways to cope in a healthy way as well as understand the underlying causes of their negative emotions and negative thought patterns. Most of my clients are motivated to improve their life and understand that they can develop tools to help with the numbing and energy draining symptoms of Depression and Anxiety. Life can feel overwhelming at times but can be managed with various techniques and examining our beliefs about ourselves and others.. We will look at the underlying causes and reoccurring thoughts that often lead to Anxiety and Depression. Talk therapy provides a way to express our deepest fears and hurts in a therapeutic and non-judgmental way. My clients typically are anxious to understand how to manage these stressors. They are motivated to improve their lives and obtain a way to live a fuller, better life.

What you can expect from me

Our first session will allow us to have brief introductions and then discuss the situations or problems that are causing distress. The session will be non-judgmental, respectful and positive. We will determine the primary goals of your therapy and we will jointly develop a plan for our follow up sessions. Time spent will focus on discussing your concerns, without judgment and exploring and developing positive patterns of behavior and thought that can often lead us to develop new skills and a better understanding of the emotions we are experiencing. Goals will be jointly established based on the needs of the client. This is your time to safely express your hopes and fears and find a way forward.
