Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Diahnn and I have been lucky enough to be able to work with young people my entire life. I am so passionate about helping them to connect to their inner self, create experiences that positively challenge them and expand their views of themselves and the world around them.

My approach to therapy

Studies show that youth have the inspiring ability to be resilient. If they have one caring adult in their lives at home, at school or elsewhere, their ability to be resilient increases. I aim to be one of those adults that help them to realize their self-worth and value.

My overall approach is a positive strength-based approach which focuses less on the deficits of the past and more on the hopes for the future. I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help make the thinking, feeling, behavior connection and to manage and gain control over the unhelpful patterns of thought.

What you can expect from me

Clients will be able to talk with me in a safe, secure and non-judgemental environment. I want them to feel heard and valued after we meet. It's important for me to empower my clients to think beyond our counseling sessions and into ways to be self-reliant during stressful times. We do this by learning new coping strategies to use whenever they feel distressing emotional shifts happen.
