Great to meet you!

Many high-functioning individuals find themselves carrying grief, burnout, and emotional overwhelm while continuing to meet the demands of their personal and professional lives. On the outside, things may appear stable, but internally, it can feel heavy, exhausting, and difficult to process.

Therapy offers a space to step out of that role and not have to hold everything by yourself. Together, we focus on helping you make sense of what you’re carrying, restore balance, and move toward clarity and meaningful change.

I’m Cheryl A. Francis, a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Grief Therapist, and Certified Professional Clinical Supervisor. I specialize in supporting individuals and professionals navigating grief, burnout recovery, and emotional overwhelm. My work is grounded, supportive, and focused on helping you move forward with intention and inner peace. If you’re ready for support that meets you where you are, I invite you to schedule a session.

My approach to therapy

My approach is holistic, strength-based, and grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with a focus on grief-informed care. I work with clients to understand how their thoughts, emotions, and experiences are interconnected, while creating space to process loss, stress, and emotional fatigue in meaningful ways.

I believe therapy should go beyond surface-level coping. Our work is centered on building insight, developing practical tools, and supporting real, lasting change at a pace that feels right for you. My style is warm, collaborative, and non-judgmental, helping you feel supported while gently challenging you toward growth.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a space to slow down and begin where you are, without pressure to have everything figured out. We will explore what led you to seek support, what you’ve been carrying, and what you would like to feel different.

You can expect a calm, supportive environment where you are heard and understood. I will ask thoughtful questions to gain a clear picture of your experiences, and together we will begin identifying a direction that feels aligned with your needs and goals.

By the end of the session, you can expect to have a better understanding of the process and a sense of whether this space feels like the right fit for you.
