Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin creating a safe and comfortable space for therapy. We will talk about what brings you to counseling, the challenges you are currently experiencing, and what you hope to gain from therapy.
You are not expected to share everything at once, especially when it comes to difficult or traumatic experiences. We will move at a pace that feels manageable for you. I believe that building trust and a sense of safety is an important part of the therapeutic process.
Together, we will begin identifying your needs, strengths, and goals for treatment. I will also answer any questions you may have about therapy and discuss approaches that may be helpful for you. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, supported, and with a clearer understanding of how we can work together.
