Great to meet you!

I have been practicing therapy with individuals, relationships, and groups since 2014. I was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan but have also lived in Oregon and Colorado, now residing in Traverse City. I am a toddler- and dog-mom. Some examples of my specialty concerns are: communication, enhanced intimacy, sexual dysfunctions, social anxiety, depression, life transitions, and self-esteem.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I love helping fellow nerds/geeks learn to find their own emotions, appreciate their partner's emotions, and communicate and connect more effectively. I also enjoy working with people who are looking to enhance their communication skills and sense of connection and intimacy. I strongly believe in being proactive and setting you and your relationships up for success. My approach is an intentional blend of Solution-Focused and Narrative therapies, DBT, EFT, EMDR, and IFS.

What you can expect from our first session

You can expect to be held accountable to your goals and have some homework between sessions. The work is mainly on your shoulders but I'm here to guide you. Depending on your concerns, success in one area may reveal goals in others. You affect and are affected by all of your relationships, big and small. I believe we are all doing the best we can with the knowledge and resources we have available to us. Change is possible!
