Great to meet you!

I'm Cheryl Polyudhapoom. I've worked with children, youth, & families involved with the foster care system for 15 years as a Child Welfare Social Worker. During that time I've worked with children & families with trauma, abuse, neglect, & mental health issues. I've also worked with Law Enforcement, & supervised Social Workers. I've lived in Los Angeles, San Jose, Monterey, & Bakersfield, CA which has given me experience in working with various populations & communities throughout California. I have also been an Adjuncted Professor-Lecturer & CalWISE (Title IV-E) Consultant at California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB).

My approach to therapy

I've started my own private practice because I’m a therapist committed to helping adults learn how to build healthier relationships, be free from trauma, and to overall learn how to manage their mental health & relationships. My work focuses on targeting negative behaviors, habits, and thoughts. I believe in utilizing multiple modalities in treatment to help clients reach their goals, but my primary approach in treatment is through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

What you can expect from me

If you’re struggling to cope with grief and loss, I can help you navigate these feelings and offer a path forward. You should also expect to walk away with healthy coping skills and strategies, as well as the skills to identify and disrupt unhealthy behavioral and thought patterns. I provide a safe and welcoming environment so you can share your thoughts and fears freely. I am here to offer you support, comfort, and hope in moving forward. Life isn't easy. So don't do it alone- Live Life Free.
