Great to meet you!

I’m Dr. Cheryl L. Pugh, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and Certified Addictions and Dependency Counselor (CADC) with more than 34 years of experience in clinical care and administrative leadership. I hold a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology and provide evidence-based, integrative therapy for individuals, families, and groups.

I support clients working through mood and behavior concerns, trauma, addiction, parenting challenges, stress, and overall wellness. My goal is to offer thoughtful, comprehensive care that respects each person’s experiences, strengths, and needs—including those from diverse and vulnerable communities.

My approach to therapy

I help you better understand your emotions while building practical tools you can use in everyday life. Together, we’ll combine compassionate support with proven strategies to process difficult feelings, set healthy boundaries, manage conflict, communicate more assertively, and create lasting positive habits.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, navigating a major transition, working through trauma or addiction, or simply ready to make a change, therapy can help you gain clarity and move forward with greater confidence. We’ll start where you are and create a personalized path toward meaningful progress.

What you can expect from me

Your initial session is designed to be a welcoming, low-pressure space to understand where you are today and where you want to go. We’ll spend our time getting to know what brings you to therapy and identifying the support that will be most helpful for you.

You can expect a safe, grounded environment where your story is heard and respected. We’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Together, we’ll develop a deeper understanding of your story and needs, including the challenges you’re facing and the life experiences shaping your well-being.

We’ll set collaborative goals focused on outcomes that matter to you, such as developing healthier coping strategies, establishing strong boundaries, improving communication, or managing stress and mood changes.

You’ll also leave with a personalized action plan, clear expectations, shared focus areas, and practical first steps toward meaningful progress.
