Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Cheyenne, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in California. I have experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, and families in both private practice and mental health and substance use treatment settings.

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I believe therapy should be a space where you feel comfortable being yourself, exploring what you’re going through, and working toward meaningful changes at a pace that feels right for you.

I specialize in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, substance use, stress, and major life transitions. My approach is tailored to each client and incorporates evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Family Systems approaches.

My goal is to help you better understand yourself and your patterns, develop practical coping skills, strengthen your relationships, and feel more confident navigating life’s challenges. I value creating a genuine therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, supported, and empowered throughout the process.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should feel like a conversation where you can be yourself without worrying about saying the “right” thing. I’ll meet you where you are, listen without judgment, and help you make sense of what you’re going through. We’ll work together to identify what isn’t working, understand where certain patterns may be coming from, and find realistic ways to make things feel more manageable.

I’m not here to tell you how to live your life. Instead, I’ll help you better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, and develop tools that actually fit into your everyday life. Some sessions may involve working through deeper experiences, while others may focus on solving a current problem or simply having a safe place to process a difficult week. Therapy will look different for everyone, and we’ll figure out what works best for you together.

What you can expect from me

The first session is really about getting to know each other and helping you feel comfortable. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what has been going on in your life, and what you’re hoping to get out of our time together. You don’t need to have everything figured out or know exactly what you want to work on, that’s something we can explore together.

I’ll ask some questions to better understand you and your experiences, but I also want you to have space to share what feels important to you. We’ll start talking about your goals and what you’d like therapy to look like moving forward. Most importantly, the first session is a chance for you to get a feel for me and decide whether I’m someone you feel comfortable talking to and working with.
