Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Chi Onwuli, DNP, PMHNP-BC, CNL, MBA, APRN, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner and founder of MindRoot Integrative Psychiatry & Wellness.

I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from University of San Francisco in 2017 and have been practicing in mental health since 2008. My clinical experience spans inpatient and outpatient psychiatry, residential treatment, and community mental health, where I have worked with individuals facing a wide range of psychiatric and co-occurring conditions.

Whether you are seeking clarity about your diagnosis, support with medication, or a more comprehensive approach to healing, my goal is to provide personalized care that empowers you to feel better, function more effectively, and create lasting change.

My approach to therapy

I provide compassionate, evidence-based mental health care for adults experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma/PTSD, bipolar disorder, and treatment-resistant mood disorders, combining modern psychiatric medicine with integrative and lifestyle-based strategies to help address the root causes of mental health symptoms—not just manage them.

My approach is collaborative and individualized. Together, we will create a treatment plan that supports both symptom relief and long-term wellness, helping you move toward greater clarity, resilience, and emotional balance.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation designed to help us understand your unique story, current concerns, and treatment goals. We’ll discuss the symptoms you’re experiencing, your mental health, medical history, past treatments, lifestyle factors, and any stressors that may be affecting your well-being.

I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative environment where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable sharing openly. My goal is to understand not only your symptoms, but also the underlying factors contributing to them—including sleep, nutrition, stress, relationships, and overall physical health.
