Great to meet you!

Greetings! I’m Chiz, and I’m glad you’re here. Taking the first step toward therapy can sometimes feel uncertain, and my goal is to provide a space where you feel supported as we navigate that process together.

I have over three years of experience in the mental health field working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and life experiences. Throughout my work, I have supported clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, substance use concerns, grief and loss, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, and difficulties with emotional regulation.

I believe that building a strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of the counseling process. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable being yourself and where your experiences are heard, acknowledged, and respected. I approach each client with compassion, curiosity, and an open mind, recognizing that your experiences, needs, and perspective are unique to you.

Therapy can be both rewarding and challenging, and you do not have to have everything figured out before starting. I strive to meet you where you are while helping you better understand yourself, recognize your strengths, work through challenges, and create meaningful change in your life.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is integrative, holistic, and individualized. I recognize that there is no single therapeutic approach that works for every person or every situation. Because of this, I adjust my approach based on your specific concerns, personality, experiences, strengths, and goals. Depending on your needs, I may incorporate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and other therapeutic approaches. Our work may involve exploring thought and behavioral patterns, developing coping and emotional regulation skills, increasing self-awareness, processing difficult emotions and experiences, identifying personal strengths, and finding practical solutions to current challenges.

I also believe in looking at the whole person rather than focusing only on symptoms or a diagnosis. A holistic approach allows us to consider how different areas of your life including emotional well-being, physical health, relationships, environment, lifestyle, values, and personal experiences may be connected to what you are currently experiencing.

Therapy is a collaborative process. I welcome your feedback and want you to have an active voice in our work together. As your needs evolve, our approach can evolve as well.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is an opportunity to get to know one another and begin building the foundation for a strong therapeutic relationship. We will explore what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, strengths, experiences, and what you hope to gain from our work together.

There is no pressure to share everything at once. Building trust takes time, and I want you to feel comfortable moving at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we will begin identifying your goals and creating a supportive, collaborative direction for therapy where you feel heard, understood, and respected.
