Great to meet you!

As a LCSW I have worked in the field for over 20 yeas primarily within the LBGTQ+ communities and recently with people 50 and older. I have worked with a diverse range of people who have experienced depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, grief, struggles with substance use and life transitions. My approach is honest, affirming, strength-based and creative.

My approach to therapy

Every life has a history of twist and turns, with episodes of successes, failures, challenges, decisions, changes and losses. We often inhabit patterns that once helped us to survive, yet now hinder us in recognizing or becoming who we truly are. These patterns can affect a variety of life issues, such as goal attainment, difficulties in relationships, and our ability to communicate, leaving us feeling frustrated, confused, or stuck. My role in the relationship we create together is to help you look and better understand those patterns and relationships, so you can become more able to begin making affirming changes in your life.

What you can expect from me

In our first session you’ll have the opportunity to share your story, what brought you into therapy and what you hope to achieve in in this process. The work will be collaborative throughout the process. My aim is to create a warm, empathic, welcoming environment in order to assist you to feel safe, able to share and be vulnerable and allow you to work towards your goal attainment that is realistic and attainable for you.
