Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and LPC Supervisor in Texas with more than 12 years of experience in the mental health field. Throughout my career, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and life challenges. My clinical experience includes working with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship and family concerns, parenting challenges, self-esteem, grief, life transitions, emotional regulation, and other stressors that can affect a person’s ability to feel like themselves or move forward.

Over the years, I have worked in multiple areas of mental health, including direct clinical care, clinical leadership, and supervision of developing counselors. These experiences have shaped me into a therapist who understands that people are complex and that effective therapy cannot be approached as one-size-fits-all.

I value authenticity in the therapeutic relationship. My goal is to create a space where you can be honest about what is happening in your life without feeling judged, minimized, or defined by a diagnosis. Therapy with me is a collaborative process focused not only on understanding what brought you here, but also on helping you develop the insight, skills, and confidence needed to create meaningful change.

My approach to therapy

My therapy style is warm, interactive, supportive, and appropriately challenging. I believe therapy should provide a safe space for you to feel heard and understood, while also helping you recognize patterns, explore difficult emotions, and make changes that move you toward the life you want.

My approach is primarily grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered therapy, and solution-focused therapy. I also incorporate EMDR when clinically appropriate for clients who may benefit from processing trauma and other distressing experiences. Rather than using the same approach with every client, I tailor treatment to your individual needs, goals, experiences, and readiness for change.

I believe insight is important, but therapy should also help you determine what to do with that insight. Depending on your needs, our work may involve identifying unhelpful thought patterns, strengthening coping and emotional regulation skills, processing past experiences, improving boundaries and relationships, developing healthier responses to stress, or identifying practical steps toward your goals.

I am compassionate, but I am also intentional about helping clients grow. At times, that means gently challenging perspectives or patterns that may no longer be serving you. You can expect me to meet you where you are while also helping you work toward where you want to be.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is an opportunity for us to begin understanding what brought you to therapy, what you have been experiencing, and what you would like to be different. You do not need to arrive knowing exactly what to say or having everything figured out. We will work through that together.

I will ask questions about your current concerns, relevant history, relationships, stressors, strengths, and previous experiences with therapy. Just as importantly, you will have an opportunity to ask questions and get a sense of who I am as a therapist. I want you to feel comfortable enough to be yourself and honest enough to tell me when something is difficult, uncomfortable, or simply is not working for you.

By the end of the first few sessions, my goal is for us to have a clearer understanding of what you want from therapy and how we can work toward those goals together. You can expect a therapeutic relationship that is supportive and compassionate, but also purposeful. I am here to listen, help you make connections, teach practical skills when needed, and challenge you in ways that support meaningful and sustainable change.

I especially like the updated approach section for you because it communicates, “I am warm, but I am not just going to sit here and nod at you.” It sounds much more like an experienced clinician who knows how she practices rather than a generic therapist bio.
