Great to meet you!

I received my BA in Psychology from LIU CW Post Campus (2004) and my MSW from Fordham Graduate School of Social Service (2013). I have 17 years of experience in the child welfare system, seven years of clinical practice, five years of practicum instruction and two years as an adjunct professor for social work education. .

I use a variety of treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Treatment (CBT), Gestalt-therapy, trauma-based therapy, and psychodynamic therapy,

My approach to therapy

I have been described as warm, humorous (laughter can be healing), and straightforward. Cultural humility is key and I am passionate about bringing awareness to racial trauma and often approach my clients from an intersectional feminist framework. I also use fantasy, art and drama (as well as metaphors) as vehicles for healing (especially for clients who identify as "nerds" or "geeks)

What you can expect from me

Creating a supportive, therapeutic space where clients can be their authentic selves is crucial. I welcome and encourage storytelling; our narratives (and how we frame them) matter! My goal is to help clients create new narratives and find creative ways to heal from their traumas and/or stressors.
