Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Christie Wakefield a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I believe in creating sacred space—a space where healing, honesty, and transformation are not only possible, but welcomed. My work centers on helping couples and individuals rewrite the stories that have kept them stuck in cycles of pain, disconnection, or self-doubt.

My approach to therapy

I take a compassionate, collaborative approach rooted in trauma-informed care, narrative therapy, and family systems work. Whether working with individuals or couples, I support clients in identifying the stories, patterns, and beliefs that may be keeping them stuck. I help clients explore how their stories have been shaped—often by trauma or relational dynamics—and how those narratives can be re-authored to align with their values and goals. In couples therapy, I help partners understand each other’s inner world, improve communication, and rebuild connection, even when trust has been fractured. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where healing, growth, and reconnection become possible.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where healing and insight unfold at a sustainable pace. Together, we work to identify harmful patterns, understand their origins, and develop practical tools for emotional regulation and connection. In trauma recovery, this means gaining clarity around the impact of past experiences and learning how to reclaim personal agency. In couples therapy, clients walk away with improved emotional awareness, healthier communication, and a renewed sense of partnership. Whether individual or relational, sessions focus on helping you rewrite limiting narratives and move forward with greater self-compassion and empowerment.
