Great to meet you!

Hello, I’m Christina Ayisah Eyeson, a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than three years of experience providing mental health and substance use counseling to individuals, couples, families, and groups. My experience includes supporting clients navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, substance use, and other challenges affecting their well-being.

I hold a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision. My goal is to help clients better understand their experiences, develop practical coping strategies, and create meaningful, sustainable change at a pace that feels comfortable for them.

My approach to therapy

My approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and strengths-based interventions while tailoring treatment to each client’s individual needs and goals. I believe therapy should be a collaborative, supportive, and judgment-free space where clients feel heard and respected.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, you can expect a welcoming, judgment-free space where we begin getting to know one another. We will talk about what brought you to counseling, what you are currently experiencing, and what you hope to accomplish through therapy. I will ask questions about your background, relationships, strengths, and any concerns that may be affecting your well-being. We will also discuss confidentiality, the counseling process, and what you can expect from our work together. My goal is not to overwhelm you or expect you to have everything figured out. Instead, we will work together to identify your priorities and begin developing goals that feel meaningful and realistic for you. Most importantly, the first session is an opportunity for you to determine whether you feel comfortable working with me. Building trust takes time, and we will move at a pace that feels appropriate for you.
