Great to meet you!

Hi, I'm Christina, though most people call me Christy. I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Ohio with eight years in psychiatric inpatient, crisis, and substance use treatment. I help adults, teens, and kids move through anxiety, depression, and trauma, with warmth, honesty, and a little humor along the way.

My approach to therapy

My work is trauma-informed and client-centered, leaning heavily on family systems: Attachment-Based Family Therapy, Multidimensional Family Therapy, and MindfulnessBased Cognitive Therapy, depending on what's useful for you. After years in psychiatric inpatient units, crisis stabilization, and substance use treatment, very little surprises me, so whatever you bring in is safe here. With kids I use play therapy; with teens and adults I bring the same directness. I don't believe one formula works for everyone, so we build your plan together. If humor, movement, or creativity open doors that straight talk can't, we'll use those too.

What you can expect from me

Your first session is about naming what's hard, nothing more. You don't need the right words ready or a problem fully figured out. We'll talk through what brought you in, what you want out of therapy, and what pace feels right for you. I'll ask real questions, listen closely, and tell you honestly what I'm noticing. You can expect warmth, direct feedback, and a space where it's okay to laugh even when the subject is heavy.
