Great to meet you!

As a licensed marriage and family therapist with over a decade of experience, I have had the privilege to work with individuals, couples, and families to navigate a variety of challenges. Throughout my years of practice, I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in community-based mental health, in-home therapy, and outpatient therapy to cope with various issues such as infidelity, substance abuse, interpersonal conflicts, grief, navigating divorce, blending families, anxiety, depression, chronic pain, helping a loved one through illness, and complex trauma. Although my initial training was in systemic approaches, I have advanced graduate training in foster care, pre- and post-adoption, trauma-informed care, neuroscience, substance abuse, and evidence-based practices to meet your needs.

My approach to therapy

I maintain a client-centered approach, using the best-suited evidence-based models tailored to your individual needs. My approach to therapy is to build rapport with clients by creating a safe, judgment-free space. Whether it's developing coping skills or learning how to navigate difficult situations, I use creative approaches to manage life's daily challenges. I listen with empathy and respect, and use humor when appropriate to break the ice. While I will be there to provide affirmations and emotional validation, I will also challenge you to consider a different perspective to help you build hope and get unstuck in difficult situations.

What you can expect from me

During our first session, my aim is to get to know you on your terms by providing a safe space where you feel comfortable sharing your story. I encourage you to share what you need in a therapist as well as your goals for therapy. From there, we will develop a plan with measurable, realistic goals to achieve a desirable outcome.
