Great to meet you!

I believe people are more than their diagnoses, mistakes, trauma, or the circumstances that brought them into therapy. Behind every struggle is a story worth understanding, and I am passionate about helping people recognize how their experiences have shaped their beliefs, emotions, behaviors, and relationships.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have a special interest in working with military service members, veterans, first responders, professionals, and adults who have spent years being strong for everyone else. I understand that being capable, dependable, and successful on the outside does not necessarily mean someone is doing well on the inside.

My counseling style is warm, genuine, straightforward, and practical. I listen without judgment, but I also believe therapy should involve more than simply talking about problems. I will gently challenge you when appropriate, help you recognize patterns, explore different perspectives, and develop tools for meaningful change.

I value authenticity and believe therapy should feel like a genuine human connection. While our work may involve difficult experiences and uncomfortable conversations, there is also room for encouragement, personal growth, and even laughter.

I respect each client's values and beliefs and welcome the integration of Christian faith when desired.

Most importantly, I do not define you by what has happened to you. My goal is to help you move beyond survival, strengthen your relationships, develop emotional freedom, and reconnect with who you are.

I will meet you where you are, but I won't lose sight of where you want to go.

My approach to therapy

I believe therapy should be more than a place to talk about your problems. It should help you understand why you think, feel, and react the way you do, recognize patterns that no longer serve you, and develop healthier ways of navigating life.

My approach begins with understanding not just what you are struggling with, but what you have experienced that shaped your responses. Many behaviors, including hypervigilance, anger, avoidance, emotional shutdown, people-pleasing, and the need for control, began as ways of surviving difficult circumstances. Over time, those same survival strategies can interfere with relationships, emotional well-being, and your ability to experience peace.

My therapeutic style is compassionate, collaborative, direct, and practical. I provide a safe, nonjudgmental environment while also helping you challenge unhelpful beliefs, recognize behavioral patterns, and develop meaningful solutions. I integrate CBT, CPT, DBT, ACT, and trauma-informed approaches tailored to your individual needs.

I particularly enjoy working with veterans, first responders, professionals, and adults navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, emotional dysregulation, and relationship challenges. When desired, I also welcome the integration of Christian faith and spiritual principles.

My goal is to help you move beyond simply managing symptoms toward greater self-awareness, emotional stability, healthier relationships, and a stronger sense of self.

You survived it. Now let's work on what surviving it did to you.

What you can expect from me

Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if you are accustomed to handling everything yourself, keeping your emotions private, or being the person everyone else depends on. I want you to know that you do not have to arrive knowing exactly what to say or where to begin.

Our first appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, discuss what brought you to therapy, and begin identifying what you would like to change. I will ask about your current concerns, important life experiences, relationships, emotional challenges, strengths, and goals. My focus is on understanding you as a whole person, not simply identifying a diagnosis.

Building trust is important to me. You will not be expected to share painful experiences before you are ready. We will work at a pace that respects your comfort while continuing to make meaningful progress.

My approach is interactive and collaborative. I encourage questions, welcome feedback, and believe you should feel comfortable deciding whether I am the right therapist for you.

Because Heart 2 Heart Harmony offers virtual counseling, you can attend from a private, comfortable location within Texas. We will also review confidentiality, telehealth expectations, and your treatment priorities.

My goal is for you to leave our first session feeling heard, respected, and more hopeful about the possibility of change.

You don't need to have all the answers. You just need to show up. We can figure out the words together.
