Great to meet you!

Christina Martinez, MS, LPC, LCDC is a compassionate and dedicated therapist who provides a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients can feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful change. As a bilingual counselor, she is committed to delivering culturally responsive care that honors each client’s unique background, experiences, and values.

Christina specializes in helping individuals navigate addiction, co-occurring mental health concerns, trauma, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder. Her trauma-informed approach focuses on fostering safety, trust, and resilience while helping clients overcome challenges and build healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Drawing from evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing, Christina works collaboratively with clients to develop emotional regulation skills, challenge self-defeating thought patterns, strengthen relationships, and support lasting recovery. She believes that healing happens through genuine connection, self-discovery, and empowerment, and she is passionate about helping clients recognize their strengths and achieve their personal goals.

Whether you are seeking support for mental health concerns, substance use recovery, or life’s transitions, Christina is dedicated to walking alongside you on your journey toward healing and growth.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and client-centered. I believe that meaningful change happens when clients feel safe, supported, and empowered to explore their experiences without judgment. My goal is to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, and respect, where clients can openly discuss challenges and work toward their personal goals at their own pace.

I utilize evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing to help clients develop practical coping skills, improve emotional regulation, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and build motivation for lasting change. My work is trauma-informed, recognizing the impact that past experiences can have on current behaviors, relationships, and emotional well-being.

I specialize in treating substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder. I also work with clients who are navigating life transitions, relationship difficulties, self-esteem concerns, and the effects of trauma.

Above all, I believe therapy should be tailored to each individual. I strive to meet clients where they are, build on their strengths, and help them gain the insight, confidence, and tools needed to create a healthier and more fulfilling life.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect a supportive and welcoming first session focused on building rapport and understanding their needs. We will review informed consent and the limits of confidentiality, discuss what brings them to therapy, and identify areas they would like to work on. Together, we will begin developing treatment goals and a personalized treatment plan to guide the therapeutic process and support meaningful growth.
