Great to meet you!

I’m Christina Polk, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW in MA) with over 15 years of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, stress, and significant life transitions. Before starting Christina Cares Counseling, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings supporting individuals through both everyday challenges and more complex emotional struggles.

I provide teletherapy for individual adults in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Tennessee, making it easier for you to access support from a space that feels comfortable and private.

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I use evidence-based therapies, like CBT, solution-focused work, and mindfulness-based approaches, while creating a space where you can feel supported, understood, and at ease. Therapy with me is a real conversation, where you can show up as you are and feel genuinely heard. I believe healing happens through connection. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control of your life again.

My approach to therapy

My approach is warm, supportive, and collaborative. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine conversation where you can be yourself without judgment. Together, we’ll explore what’s getting in the way of feeling your best and develop practical tools to help you manage stress, anxiety, depression, or life transitions.

I draw from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques. My goal is to help you gain clarity, build resilience, and create meaningful change that lasts beyond our sessions.

Above all, I want therapy to feel like a safe and compassionate space where healing happens through connection, understanding, and progress at your own pace.

What you can expect from me

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and talk about what’s bringing you to therapy. I’ll ask some questions to understand your goals, background, and what you hope to gain from our work together, but there’s no pressure to have everything figured out. It’s a relaxed, conversational process focused on helping you feel comfortable and heard.

Because I offer tele-therapy only, sessions take place virtually in a secure, HIPAA-compliant space. Many clients appreciate the flexibility and comfort of connecting from home while still receiving thoughtful, personalized care.

By the end of our first session, we’ll have a plan for moving forward together, and you’ll have a clearer sense of what therapy with me will feel like.
