Great to meet you!

Hello! I am a licensed professional counselor with several decades of experience in the mental health field as both a clinician and a clinical supervisor. I have done extensive work in a variety of mental health settings including outpatient, IOP, PHP, inpatient and residential care. I primarily utilize a combination of Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy to support my clients in using their inherent strengths to address a variety of challenging issues. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults using a highly individualized approach to treatment. I have expertise in addressing trauma, as well as anxiety disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, self-injurious behaviors, grief and loss, family issues, health concerns and life transitions. I have a calm approach and utilize humor to create a warm, relaxed environment for her clients.

Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, including watching my two college-age children play soccer. I love to read and go to the beach. I have a much beloved dog and enjoy the outdoors. In my spare time, I enjoy doing home renovations, landscaping and gardening projects and taking care of my succulent collection.

My approach to therapy

My approach to therapy is very strength based and individualized to each of my client's needs. I value building a trusting relationship with each person at the outset of therapy and allowing treatment to progress at a pace that feels comfortable. I want to both challenge and support each individual I work with by encouraging new ways of thinking and helping them find strategies to face the stressors in their lives. I believe that therapy can help people do hard things that they may have spent years avoiding.

What you can expect from me

A first session is an opportunity for me to get an understanding of how I can best support you. I will do my best to make a first session as comfortable and nonthreatening as possible. It is my goal to have each client leave my office after a first session with a sense of hope that their life can improve and they can become a better version of themselves.
