Great to meet you!

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of New York. I earned a both my BA in Psychology and my MA in Mental Health Counseling at Adelphi University. I currently serve the community as a Director of Behavioral Health in a major health system. I have worked with a wide variety of populations across multiple settings including higher education, hospital and private practice. I have been fortunate in my career to serve many specialized populations including neurodivergence, severe and persistent acute mental illness, caregivers, geriatrics, and perinatal clients. I also enjoy working with couples. I do not believe in a one size fits all model. I believe that each individual is unique and use a collaborative approach to counseling to ensure my clients needs are met. I am humbled to be invited to be a part of your therapeutic journey and look forward to sharing in this process together!

My approach to therapy

There is no such thing as a stress-free life, and certainly no “How To” book written on how to perfectly manage the challenges before you. Using a collaborative approach to counseling, we will work together to find the therapeutic strategies that are effective for you while ruling out what is not effective for you along the way. My approach to treatment is person- centered and collaborative. My goal is to create a welcoming and safe space for you to be able to express yourself openly. I aim to provide unconditional support and positive regard for my clients. My role to support you in exploring tools that can help you to facilitate personal growth and promote long-term wellness.

What you can expect from me

In session one, we will spend some time getting to know each other. I will conduct an initial assessment to learn more about what brings you to counseling, your goals, and your specific needs. We will address any concerns, hesitancies or questions you may have! I will take time to orient you to practice polices and what you can generally expect throughout the course of your counseling.
