Great to meet you!

I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with advanced training in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health conditions across the lifespan. I hold additional certifications as a Certified Addiction Registered Nurse–Advanced Practice (CARN-AP) and a Certified Correctional Health Professional (CCHP), which reflect my specialized expertise in treating substance use disorders and providing ethical, evidence-based care in complex and high-acuity settings.

My educational background is rooted in nursing with specialized graduate-level training in psychiatry and mental health. Professionally, I have experience working in a variety of clinical environments, including correctional and high-acuity settings, where I have cared for individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorders, trauma histories, and treatment-resistant conditions. These experiences have strengthened my ability to provide thoughtful, structured, and compassionate care to individuals with complex psychiatric needs.

I work with adolescents and adults experiencing concerns such as depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, PTSD, mood instability, sleep disturbances, and challenges related to life transitions. I have particular experience supporting individuals who have not responded well to previous medication trials and require careful, individualized medication management. My background also allows me to effectively serve individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.

My approach to therapy

I believe mental health care works best when it is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized. I take the time to truly listen, understand your experiences, and partner with you in creating a treatment plan that aligns with your goals, values, and lifestyle. My approach is holistic and evidence-based, integrating thoughtful medication management with psychoeducation and supportive therapeutic techniques.

I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered. Whether you are navigating depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, or life transitions, I work at your pace and adjust care as your needs evolve.

What you can expect from me

My style is calm, supportive, and transparent. I believe in clear communication and making sure you understand your diagnosis, treatment options, and the reasoning behind each decision. I welcome questions and encourage shared decision-making, because you are the expert on your own life.

I am especially mindful of clients who may have had difficult or discouraging experiences with mental health care in the past. Building trust is a priority, and I focus on consistency, follow-through, and realistic expectations.
