Great to meet you!

Hello! I'm going to KISS this part. Keep It Short Simple. My name is Christine. I am a licensed clinical social worker who graduated from Cal State Bakersfield and have worked with children in the school districts, college students at my local community college, and adolescent and adult-geriatric patients in a psychiatric hospital experiencing homicidal/suicidal/psychotic crisis. I have experience with perinatal/postpartum depression and anxiety for both moms and dads.

My approach to therapy

Life is hard. Adulting is relentless. It’s so easy to lose focus of yourself when you are so busy on work, paying bills, and caring for others. You go from feeling that slight tinge of pride in being needed at first to stressed and anxious, then frustrated and overwhelmed to finally depressed, resentful...and dare I say hopeless.

Running in this rat race of life can feel lonely but you are not alone and you certainly do not have to go through this alone. Sometimes stigma and fear of not wanting to burden friends/family with your problems can discourage you from reaching out for help.

I would be honored to collaborate with you to listen with compassion, guide you in identifying and understanding your patterns, provide psychoeducation, build coping skills, and help you prioritize yourself while creating meaningful and positive change. Because you deserve it.

I like to use relatability and some humor in keeping conversations real while developing an open and honest relationship.

I specialize in work/life burnout, anxiety, stress, depression, crisis, grief, and perinatal/postpartum depression (having gone through it twice myself). My approach is client-centered, strength based, and solution focused. I strive to create a warm, welcoming, safe space where you can unpack life’s stress with someone who is non-judgmental, accepting, honest, and empathetic so you feel heard and seen. You matter. It’s time to prioritize you because you deserve it.

What you can expect from me

A casual conversation of what your symptoms are, why you are seeking help, what you would like to achieve, review of informed consent, and an assessment to gather pertinent background information for treatment should you choose to continue with me. Of course you are welcome to interview me and I will be happy to answer appropriate questions pertaining to my training, skills, and therapeutic approach.
