Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Mika, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a passion for helping individuals of all ages navigate life’s challenges, discover their strengths, and build meaningful, fulfilling lives. I specialize in working with neurodevelopmental differences, anxiety, mood disorders, trauma, grief, and resilience, and I’m committed to meeting each client with empathy, respect, and individualized care.

I earned my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Washington and my M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University. Over the years, I’ve gained extensive experience supporting children, adolescents, and young adults across diverse settings—including working with military families overseas and providing therapeutic services for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, cognitive delays, and mood-related conditions.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I hold certifications as an Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist, Clinical Trauma Professional, and Grief Educator. My work is grounded in evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), solution-focused therapy, and trauma-informed care. I also integrate mindfulness-based strategies to support emotional regulation, self-awareness, and overall well-being.

Much of my recent work has focused on supporting young adults as they transition into independence—whether through life skills development, social-emotional support, academic and career planning, or building confidence in navigating the world. I believe in honoring where each person is in their journey and creating a collaborative, affirming space where healing, growth, and change can take root.

What you can expect from our first session

Therapy is a courageous step, and I consider it a deep honor to walk alongside my clients as they explore, heal, and move forward. If you’re seeking support, know that you don’t have to go through it alone—I’m here to help you build a life that reflects your values, your strengths, and your hope for what’s ahead.
