Great to meet you!

Your goals are most important to me, but I do recommend goals when needed. I accept you just as you are. I will work together with you to achieve an improved quality of life. I have over 30 years experience working in mental health counseling, and 10 1/2 years as a licensed provider. In that time, I have learned to use a variety of modalities. I tailor the type of therapy to my client and to his/her needs, so I might introduce more than one type during our work together. The issues I work with most include depression, anxiety, and trauma, I am also certified in addiction recovery, and neurodivergent issues.

My approach to therapy

My approach is client-centered. I draw from a number of modalities depending on your personality and the way you see things. My focus is always what will most benefit you. I encourage feedback, and I’m always open to requests. I see therapy as a joint effort, and encourage clients to practice tools daily so that they become a helpful part of their lives.

What you can expect from me

In your first session, I will listen to your concerns attentively, and do my best to make you feel comfortable and safe to share. For the first two sessions, I will try to get a full history of the problem and of your life experiences. I know that it can be challenging to repeat your history and issues when trying therapy again, so I try to be considerate of that. I also want you to build trust with me before revealing sensitive information, because trust is the foundation of success in therapy. I look forward to hearing from you.
