Great to meet you!
Hi, I’m Christine Homs, a licensed professional counselor. I believe that our bodies often tell us when something is wrong or needs our attention. Therapy can help address when anxiety symptoms — or other signs of stress — become too loud to manage alone. We all go through challenges and adverse experiences that put pressure on our bodies and minds, and it’s important to have the right support when navigating them.
I began my career as a trauma therapist, and that foundation continues to shape my work today. I believe in a trauma-informed approach that focuses on understanding what happened to my clients, rather than pathologizing their experiences. My goal is to help individuals view their symptoms through a compassionate lens and build tools to navigate them effectively.
I specialize in EMDR therapy because I’ve seen how often trauma and stress create physical reactions that talk therapy alone may not fully address. EMDR offers a gentle, effective way to process these experiences and is also a powerful tool for treating anxiety and depression. I enjoy working with adults of all ages, and I have worked with children, military members, and first responders — communities where trauma often deeply impacts daily life.
My professional background includes work in child advocacy, behavioral health hospital settings, and private practice. In private practice, I support individuals working through adverse life experiences such as divorce, job stress, and difficult relationships. I have extensive training in helping survivors of abuse and caregivers. I'm passionate about helping people navigate both the physical and emotional effects of trauma toward healing and growth.
