Trauma isn't caused by an event that happens TO you, it's caused by what happens INSIDE you because of the event. It's created in how your nervous system shuts down or revs up and the thoughts and feelings you rehearse over and over again about the event. That creates a new sense of "knowing" that now guides your current thoughts, feelings and behaviors that determine how you live in and experience the world and people around you.

A bit about my approach to therapy

Using EMDR and other evidence based approaches, I can help you reprocess those past experiences so they are not so disturbing and have such a powerful hold over you. This will open the door for you to gain new insight and learn effective skills that will enable you to experience the world in a whole new way!
