Great to meet you!

I have worked in a variety of outpatient settings, including outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization. I have experience working in community mental health, hospital, and school-based settings with both adolescents and adults. I have also worked as a Clinical Supervisor and supported program development.

I am trained in both EMDR and Schema Therapy and draw from other modalities such as CBT, DBT, and ACT. I have experience treating a range of clinical concerns, including depression, anxiety, relational difficulties, trauma, perinatal challenges including infertility and loss, and stress management.

I am also comfortable engaging clients around topics of faith and spirituality when this is an important part of their lives and something they would like to incorporate into therapy.

My approach to therapy

I am a warm and compassionate therapist who believes that healing happens within a safe, trusting, and genuine connection with a therapist. My approach is trauma-informed and collaborative and is informed by my training in Schema Therapy and EMDR. Schema Therapy helps increase awareness of the deeper patterns and beliefs that develop through our experiences and relationships, while EMDR can help process experiences that continue to influence those patterns.

We will work together to better understand these patterns and develop healthier ways of responding that are more aligned with your values and goals. I also believe in the importance of practical skills and support clients in developing new ways of thinking, relating to others, regulating emotions, and responding to challenges. I draw from CBT, DBT, and ACT to help clients develop practical skills that can be used both in and outside of therapy.

What you can expect from me

Within our first session, I will take the opportunity to understand what brings you to treatment, your goals and needs, and how you best learn and incorporate new information and skills. I will also provide information about my therapeutic approach and how it may support your presenting needs.

Most importantly, the first session is an opportunity to begin establishing a therapeutic connection that will serve as the foundation for our future work together.
