Great to meet you!

My educational background consists of earning my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Master's in clinical counseling, and a Master's in Addictions. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselr (LPCC #16395) and am a certified addictions counselor. My areas of concentration include grief and significant trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, addictions, and a sub-concentration in eating disorders.

My approach to therapy

I use evidence based, solution focused modalities of treatment. Because each person is different and responds differently to treatment ,these include, but are not limited to Cognitive behavioral therapy, which can help one become aware of negative or inaccurate thinking and work toward reframing thoughts to better deal with challenging situations. Dialectical behavioral therapy to deal with intense emotions, and learn to understand and accept feelings. Motivational interviewing for addictions where the client is encouraged to maintain sobriety by identifying their intrinsic motivations and values. By utilizing Trauma informed care, I can help evaluate each individual's trauma and its impact on their behavior, mental and physical health, and their ability to participate and engage in treatment.

We will work together to establish a trusting and collaborative relationship. I encourage openness and vulnerability as this is often the path to personal growth development. I will provide a compassionate and empathetic environment that will help you towards your road to self-discovery and potential. This road is not without challenges, but it is where we can identify your strengths, build your confidence, and promote healthy ways to improve your self-esteem.

What you can expect from me

I like to start with an introductory session, where you will have the opportunity to share your story and goals you hope to achieve in therapy. Goals can change and we will work together to figure this out! I strive to create a welcoming environment that allows you to feel comfortable sharing and being vulnerable, while also feeling secure with no judgment. From there, we’ll work together in the sessions to develop tools to achieve your goals.
