Great to meet you!

Hi, I’m Christine Tice, but please feel free to call me Christy. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in supporting individuals who are navigating emotional regulation challenges, relationship difficulties, life transitions, trauma, and attachment-related concerns. Many of the people I work with feel overwhelmed by intense emotions, stuck in painful relationship patterns, or unsure how to move forward after difficult experiences.

My goal is to help you better understand yourself, develop practical coping tools, and build healthier relationships with both yourself and others. I believe that meaningful change happens when people feel truly seen and understood, so I strive to create a warm, genuine, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences safely.

I approach therapy from a strengths-based and humanistic perspective, recognizing that every person already has inner resources that can support healing and growth. As a relational therapist, I place a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship because I believe that safe, authentic connection is often where real healing begins. I feel honored to do this work and value the opportunity to support clients as they gain insight, reconnect with themselves, and move toward more balanced and fulfilling lives.

My approach to therapy

I use an integrative and personalized approach to therapy, drawing from several evidence-based modalities so that treatment can be tailored to each client’s unique needs, goals, and experiences. Some of the approaches I incorporate include EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, and somatic-based techniques.

This combination allows us to work on both insight and practical skills. For example, we may explore patterns in thoughts, emotions, and relationships while also building tools for emotional regulation, coping with distress, and creating healthier behavioral patterns. For clients processing trauma or difficult life experiences, we may also incorporate trauma-informed and body-based approaches to support healing.

Overall, my approach is collaborative, compassionate, and adaptable. I believe therapy works best when it fits the individual, so we will work together to identify what feels most helpful and meaningful for you.

What you can expect from me

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a comfortable and supportive foundation for our work together. During this time, we will talk about what brings you to therapy, explore your current concerns, and review relevant aspects of your personal history. We will also discuss what you hope to gain from therapy and begin identifying goals that feel meaningful and achievable for you.

My goal in the first session is to create a welcoming, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. You can expect a collaborative conversation where I ask questions to better understand your experiences, strengths, and challenges.

By the end of the session, we will typically have a clearer understanding of your presenting concerns, the areas you would like support with, and the goals we may work toward together.
