Great to meet you!

I am a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner providing care for adults with anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, OCD, ADHD, mood disorders, and related concerns.

Before becoming a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I worked for many years in healthcare as an emergency and critical care nurse and first responder. I also teach nursing at the college level. My background has shaped the way I practice: I value careful assessment, clear communication, evidence-based care, and treating patients as active participants in their own treatment.

I completed my psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner training at Ohio University and now provide outpatient psychiatric evaluation and medication management for adults.

My approach to therapy

My approach is thoughtful, collaborative, and diagnostic rather than rushed or medication-focused. I take time to understand what you are experiencing, your history, what has and has not helped before, and what you hope to change.

Medication can be an important part of treatment, but I do not believe every symptom requires another prescription. When medication is appropriate, we will discuss the options, expected benefits, potential risks, and alternatives so that treatment decisions are made together.

My goal is to provide psychiatric care that is clinically thorough, practical, and individualized while using medication thoughtfully and conservatively.

What you can expect from me

Your first session will focus on developing a clear understanding of what has been going on and what you would like help with. We will review your current symptoms, psychiatric and medical history, previous treatments, medications, sleep, daily functioning, and other factors that may be contributing to how you feel.

I also want to understand what has worked well for you in the past, what has not, and any concerns you have about treatment or medication. We will discuss my initial impressions and possible next steps together.

My goal is for you to leave the first visit with a clearer understanding of the treatment options and a plan that feels thoughtful and appropriate rather than rushed.
