I am an Licensed Professional Counselor and have been working in the field for almost 20 years. I got my start as a wilderness therapist and guide. I see my role as therapist as helping my clients find their way through what can be a scary and dark place. My own personal experience dealing with interpersonal and physical trauma guides my practice.
In treating trauma it is important to go at the pace of the client. I blend EMDR and Somatic Experience techniques so that my clients feel supported in addressing traumatic memories in a safe and encouraging way
A therapeutic relationship is special and in order to be successful there must be trust and safety. The end goal or take away is for my clients to be able to embrace their best life and feel good about themselves and their relationships.
