Great to meet you!

I am a laid-back therapist, with a sense of humor. I have been practicing counseling since 2013. I realize that starting therapy can produce some anxiety and stress, especially if this is your first time. As I have been in therapy myself, it is my goal to help you feel comfortable enough to exploring the issue that brings you to counseling, as well as earning your trust that I am here to help you challenge and change that problem.

My approach to therapy

You might call me a "generalist", meaning that I have experience working with a wide variety of issues and mental health diagnoses, in individual, couples, and family therapy settings. I practice an eclectic approach to therapy, including evidenced-based, trauma-informed, such as cognitive behavioral therapy. I also integrate therapies, such as mindfulness and motivational interviewing.

What you can expect from me

It is my goal that you walk away from each session with a sense of greater clarity about the situation that brought to counseling. I want you to leave each session knowing that I was engaged in each session and giving you personalized strategies and insights for your session. I am a very collaborative counselor, meaning that I work with my clients to develop "homework assignments", rather prescribing tasks that you are not motivated to complete.
