Great to meet you!

I graduated with my MSW back in 2023 & have a Bachelor's in psychology with a minor in family and human development. I am currently in a PhD program studying developmental psychology at Walden University and have study interests surrounding suicide and suicide interventions. I am a Registered Play Therapist and have been doing play therapy since I got out of graduate school. I use a wide range of modalities depending on the age and preference of the client, the biopsychosocial-spiritual make up of the client and their environment, and the current presenting problem(s). I have a wide range of experiences working with people of all ages with a variety of presenting problems. My basic philosophy is that as long as you're willing to work with me, I am willing to work for you & go through the necessary growing points. Some of the areas that I am most familiar with are trauma, bipolar/unipolar depressions, child & adolescent mental health, and suicide/associated concerns. I also have a lot of experience working with psychotic disorders, addiction, & identity issues.. That being said, if there is anything outside of my expertise, I will seek consultation and training if we want to continue our journey together, however, I also have the resources to give you the opportunity to transition to another mental health provider. To that end, I want to assure you that you are not alone. I got into this field because of the circumstances that I went through and with the decision that I will never let someone go through their stuff alone if they don't want to. I am excited to get to know you and see your success.

My approach to therapy

My primary modalities of therapy are a combination of Internal family Systems (IFS) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I want you to be able to live life to the fullest & be your truest self. I view the therapeutic relationship more as a companionship rather than an expert and client relationship; that is we go on the journey of healing and growth together side by side to discover you, help you heal, help us grow, and learn from one another. That being said, I use a wide variety of evidence based methods depending on the needs of the client at that time.

What you can expect from me

We will get to know each other & see if we can establish a therapeutic alliance and ensure that we can work together in a comfortable manner where you can achieve your values-based goals as we journey and grow. I will share my initial thoughts of an approach that we can take and then we can trouble shoot any barriers to attending therapy so that we can make this as positive of an experience as possible.
