Great to meet you!

I specialize in working with clients who are experiencing or have experienced depression, anxiety, anger, grief/loss, relationship conflicts, addictions, gender/identity concerns, lack of motivation, abuse and trauma, life transitions and men’s mental health concerns. In addition, I have worked closely with the LGBTQ+ population. Prior to working in the private practice setting, I have 14 years of experience as a teacher and counselor in the public schools of New Jersey, Texas and Colorado.

My approach to therapy

We will explore the relationship between your thoughts, feelings and behaviors to identify the way that these factors may be negatively impacting your life. I utilize techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). In addition I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and a Certified Addictions Informed Mental Health Professional (CAIMAP).

What you can expect from me

My goal as a counselor is to meet you where you are and build a professional relationship with you so that you will feel safe, respected and valued. It takes courage to make yourself vulnerable to the counseling process, but I am here to support, empower, educate and challenge you through our time together. I am looking forward to the opportunity to work with you in making what I hope will be a positive and lasting change in your life.
