Great to meet you!

I believe that life with all of its ups and downs is a fascinating journey and I'm very curious to hear about yours. I believe that trauma and pain can be transformed into growth and wisdom, and I would like to accompany you on that path of healing. In addition to being a counselor, my own journey has included years living in a Zen monastery, meditation and mindfulness experience in many religious and secular traditions, decades of participation in the arts including songwriting, playing guitar, visual art, and dance performance and instruction, and years working as an archaeologist.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I draw from these experiences to create a therapeutic environment that is creative, engaging, and insightful. Many clients have said that I helped them see new perspectives in their lives. I specialize in healing trauma using EMDR and alleviating many other types of distress using CBT. I can also incorporate mindfulness and art therapy based on my long experience with these practices.

What you can expect from our first session

I will listen deeply to your concerns and together we will begin to take concrete steps on your healing journey right from the first session.
