Great to meet you!

My name is Chris Merritt, and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients address anxiety, manage stress, cope with life transitions, and improve interpersonal relationships. My approach emphasizes empowering clients to clarify their values, develop psychological flexibility, and take meaningful action toward their goals—even in the presence of difficult thoughts and emotions. I strive to create a collaborative, compassionate space where clients can build resilience and move toward a more fulfilling life.

My approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach is collaborative and client-centered, creating a safe and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their values, emotions, and behaviors. I actively challenge my clients to examine what is working in their lives and what isn’t, helping them identify patterns, clarify goals, and make meaningful changes. I integrate ACT to support clients in building psychological flexibility, responding effectively to distressing thoughts and feelings, and aligning their actions with their core values. Interventions are tailored to each individual’s unique needs, with a focus on mindfulness, emotional resilience, and practical strategies for long-term success.

What you can expect from me

Clients can expect to leave sessions with a greater sense of clarity, improved emotional regulation, and actionable strategies for managing challenges. My goal is to help clients gain insight into their patterns, develop new coping skills, and create a life that feels purposeful and aligned with their values. Whether addressing stress, improving relationships, or navigating transitions, I aim to empower clients to achieve meaningful, lasting change.
